Description

This is a show poster for a local Calgary metal band, Gallows Eve; some friends of mine are having a CD release party and needed to advertise.

I'm still very much getting the hang of painting in photoshop and I've hardly gotten used to really using my tablet to its full potential, but I'm learning. Practice makes perfect, after all.

About 8 or so hours total work, using my Wacom tablet, Photoshop CS2 and Illustrator CS2.

yes, I know the test is hard to read, but such is the way with black metal band logos. For some reason most of them tend to have logos that are hard to read on purpose; more of an image than text. I don't really get it, either, but its what they want so i oblige.

I really like this art. The colors and design are good. I would prefer that the skeleton dude's mouth was visible and that the text at the top was easily legible.
